Quantification of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy Parameters by Endocardium Segmentation of 2d Echocardiography Images

چکیده
Left Ventricular Hypertrophy has a risk of increasing the brevity of the population if left untreated. Quantitative aid in the diagnosis and prognosis of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy to field experts is very essential to classify the disease and proceed treatment. Endocardium segmentation of left and right ventricles is done through Local Chan Vese Model using Radial Charge Fitting Curve. This is followed by the quantification of parameters Left Ventricular End Diastolic Diameter, Intraventricular septum dimension and Posterior Wall Thickness to evaluate Left ventricle mass and Relative Wall Thickness. This evaluation is useful in classifying the cardiac disease Left Ventricular Hypertrophy as Concentric Hypertrophy, Concentric Remodeling, Eccentric Hypertrophy and no Hypertrophy. The segmentation results are obtained with minimal iterations and parameters quantification has 98.76% accuracy with that of expert’s report. 3D Echocardiography of the LV and RV
The evaluation of the global and regional left ventricular (LV) function is an essential part of a routine perioperative TEE-examination. To date, the assessment of the LV ejection fraction (EF) is mainly performed by “eye-balling”, which relies on the echocardiographer’s experience and ability to visually integrate spatial information. Further limitations of 2D-TEE assessment of the LV EF are ...

The stochastic active contour scheme (STACS) is a well-known and frequently-used approach for segmentation of the endocardium boundary in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images. However, it suffers significant difficulties with image inhomogeneity due to using a region-based term based on the global Gaussian probability density functions of the innerouter regions of the active ...
متن کاملDiastolic left ventricular functional indices: Comparison between gated myocardial perfusion SPECT and echocardiography
Introduction: Many patients have only diastolic dysfunction without any abnormality in systolic function. We compared cardiac diastolic parameters obtained by gated myocardial perfusion SPECT (Gated SPECT) with those evaluated by echocardiography. Methods: Forty-nine patients (aged 37-85 years, 19 males and 30 women) underwent Gated SPECT and echocardiogr...
متن کاملMeasurement of Left Ventricular Myocardium Wall Instantaneous Motions with Echocardiographic Sequence Images
Background & Aims: One of the important aims of quantitative cardiac image processing is the clarification of myocardial motions in order to derive biomechanical behavior of the heart in the disease condition. In this study we presented a computerized analysis method for detecting the instantaneous myocardial changes by using 2D echocardiography images. Methods: The analysis was performed on th...
متن کاملMidwall ejection fraction for assessing systolic performance of the hypertrophic left ventricle
BACKGROUND In patients with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), LV midwall fractional shortening (FS) is used as a measure of LV systolic performance that is more physiologically appropriate than conventional FS. For evaluation of LV volume and ejection fraction (EF), 2-dimensional (2D) echocardiography is more accurate than M-mode echocardiography. The purpose of this study was to assess systo...
